Laying the Foundation for Bilingualism: LESD’s Dual Immersion Program

Lawndale Elementary School District (LESD) welcomed families to learn more about the highly sought-after Dual Immersion program offered in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through eighth grade. The meetings took place at Billy Mitchell Elementary and Mark Twain Elementary, led by Iliana Cruz (ELIRT at Billy Mitchell) and Eugenia Miranda (ELIRT at Mark Twain).

This February, Lawndale's Special Needs Family Support Group hosted its first public resource fair at our Kit-Carson campus. Families had the chance to learn about local resources from partner organizations, including Providence,  ADDAP, SALA International Women Organization, Department of Mental Health, WIC, Vista Community Clinic, Ball & Faith, Westsude Regional Center, Richstone Family Center, and the South Bay Center for Counseling.
